Office cleaning ... or archaeological dig?

Today I cleaned my home office! It took forever. It was really messy! The above picture does not begin to describe it.

You would not believe things that turned up.

A pack of gum that once belonged to George Frederic Handel. Actually this was on Howard's desk.

Sticky-pad sheets with phone numbers of dead people.

Souvenirs of long-ago concerts.

Stamps from the Taft administration.

Receipts from extinct supermarkets.

I have not even scratched the surface of talking about the stuff I dealt with. There were old ID cards belonging to me, Howard and Leonard. VIP cards for closed restaurants. Matches from bars I had never been to. Cards from friends I have not seen in years. Things that had kicked around my desk when I was 8.

Things got worse before they got better.

But I persevered! End result as we say here in Buffalo...

Ahhhhhh!

That is much better!

Good for you Mary. You're not the only one that needs to do this (me). It's such a daunting task. Plus the things you found made me smile.

One of my better brainstorms - make a collage out of ticket stubs. I put rubber cement on the backs and put them (sporting events, concerts, tourist attractions, etc.) on a 16x20 piece of cardboard. Then it goes in a frame. Always draws interest from visitors. Keeps office clean too

Alison, so nice of you. If you clean up your desk make sure to post Before and After pictures on Facebook so I can share in your triumph. And let me know what you find as you go!

And Budd, you are a genius! That is a great idea and I am going to remember it. But now I want to go out to the trash and dig out those BPO ticket stubs!
