Sunrise at the stove

Zut alors, I was cooking this morning at 6:30 a.m.! The reason was, I was participating in Mayor Byron Brown's victory celebration last night and when I got home I fell into bed and today I had nothing to eat.

So there I was as the sun was coming up, chopping up onions and peppers.

It was like Thanksgiving!

Remember last Thanksgiving? You know what, I had forgotten all about it. And we burned a chair! I never would have remembered that.

That is why it is necessary to keep diaries and Web logs.

Zut alors, we are coming up on two years from when I met Leonard Pennario and I still do not have this book done. My friend Ari was in town from New York City yesterday and at Byron Brown's party, Ari was admonishing me about that.

"You need to get that book done," he said. "It is getting farther and farther away from his death."

How about that pressure?

It is fun, being me!

I should not even have been out at Mayor Brown's party except I do have to do these things for work. I mean, I cannot do my job at the paper without ever leaving the house. Believe me, I have tried! And it does not work.

Hence the 6:30 a.m. cooking. And the proliferations of Zut Alorses. It is a double Zut Alors kind of day.

And it is just beginning!
